Does Travel Dim Your Glow? Try This…

In the last several emails (here and here) we’ve talked a lot about igniting your personal power. Personal power is key to igniting your life and your body. If you’ve witnessed someone who was fully and authentically in their power (I’ll define what this word, ‘power,’ really means in a future newsletter) you’ve probably been drawn to them like a magnet and you weren’t sure why. Perhaps it was the way they carried and presented themselves, but most likely, it was a glow they emitted. A glow that might even be beyond what we can see with the physical eye. Yes, we can ‘see’ it, but we can also feel it. It’s magnetic. This, my friends, is the power of increasing your vibration (your positive vibes), a.k.a, your personal power!

In my last newsletter, we talked about three different ways you can use food to ignite your personal power, or what I like to call your magnetic glow. And, as it seems all-to-appropriate, in today’s newsletter will be talking about how to keep your glow afire while traveling.

If you’ve notice anything about me, it’s probably that I’m quite a free-bird, if you will. I travel often, and I can’t seem to stop. Every time I think the travel has slowed indefinitely, I’m swept away again. It’s the life of a 5 (a number that’s associated with change, growth, experience, movement, and travel, and one that’s found an uncharacteristically high amount in my numerology life design chart…go figure). But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I even wrote a paper in my creative writing class in high school all about how I wanted an ‘unordinary life’. It seems my heart has always known my true path; one that doesn’t follow the normal trajectory or pattern of life.

Of the past 14 months, I have spent at least 9 or more of those months traveling (5 months internationally and 4 months nationally). And, I have two more months of non-stop national travel that I’m in the midst of at the moment. Travel is something that throws most of us off course and spiraling disastrously downhill with our ‘healthy lifestyle habits’. But just because you’re traveling does not mean all of your progress has to be halted, or even worse, put in reverse. In fact, I feel healthier, stronger, and more energetic and focused than I have perhaps ever in my life, even though I’m traveling more than ever.

So today, I’m going to share with you a few of my tips to staying energetic and happy while traveling…making sure my glow stays brightly lit (in upcoming newsletters I’ll fill you in on how to know if your fiery glow is ablaze).

Here is the first of several key steps:

1. The Importance of your Pre-Travel Lifestyle: this is HUGE, my peeps. If you do just one of these things before you take off on your trip, you’ll be left with a lot more money in the bank (fuel to fire your glow). A few of my pre-travel (and everyday) rituals involve the following:

2. Hydrate and hydrate some more. I can always tell if I go into a trip dehydrated. I get hungry quicker, I have cravings, I eat things I normally wouldn’t, I get tired faster, my face gets puffy, and I don’t look so hot. 😉 Drink at least one gallon of filtered or spring water each day for at least a few days before you hit the road.

3. Feed your belly and immune system: Eat plenty of raw fermented veggies (go slowly if you’re new to these) and kombucha (if kombucha works for you, it’s not for everyone). This will not only help you to digest your food better and eliminate the bloat, but also decrease cravings and give a huge boost to your immune system via the beneficial bacteria that it provides. Aim for at least 1/4 cup total per day.

4. Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! The last thing you want to do is embark on your travels in a sleep deprived state. Although that’s what many of us do due to flight schedules (I’ve had several 3:30am mornings already the past few weeks) and trying to cram as much as possible into our already too jammed schedules. So make it your priority to get to bed and get at least 8 hours of sleep for the entire week leading up to your travels. Your skin, your appetite, your immune system, and your mood will give you a huge smooch for this one.

What are your pre-travel rituals? Have any that you’d like to share? I’d love to hear them, so share below!

I’m looking forward to continuing to share more of my travel tidbits with you over the next few months while I’ll be crazy-non-stop-traveling. 🙂

Sending you all the deep sparkly glow that you desire,
~Sara G.
